im back from SPSU Appreciation Dinner. sorry to the spsu ppl, but the event just totally didnt rock my boat unlike last year. the setting was so glamorous, the host was so known and glamorous, the hotel itself was glamorous. but nothing was worth my 38 dollars spent. nothing.
the setting. Conrad something something hotel. cant be bothered to remember. cos even with a 5 star rating, and gloriously great looking hotel lobby and ballroom, what they had to offer for us in terms of food is just totally 2 star or even 1 star. i mean come on la, last year's AD was much better in terms of food. food taste was ok, serving size was enough for all of us at the table. BUT NOOOOOOOOO, the conrad hotel(didnt bother to capitalise the C in conrad cos i just lost all respect for it) served us normal tasting food that i could taste outside. i could totally remember what i was served. oh btw, they dun serve u a large plate then u guys divide urselfs, they divide the stuff equally and i think the chefs are keeping half of the food at the kitchen.
1st dish: 1 tiny piece of sotong or squid, some salad and veg thingy. super small servings.
2nd dish: some fish soup. ok tasting and i like thick soups so it was ok. again, no refills.
3rd dish: 2 small black pepper prawns. yeap. just 2. and small.
4th dish : Groupa Fish. the fish was like this big (-----------------------------)
but we only got --. that small.
5th dish : fried rice, brocolli and tandoori chicken.
fried rice wasnt enough for everione, but still got ppl who didnt think of others, brocolli was ok but nothing fantastic and finally something average size, the chicken drumstick. however, the tandoori just tastes like normal chicken curry. nothing special or tandoori there.
6th dish was some mango thingy. ok tasting.
all the small servings, even light eaters were still hungry.
the host. it was Shan Wee. 98.7fm DJ. well i tot whoa confirm tonight is gonna be fun and nice.
but no. he doesnt make the whole show fun. he just says a few things, invite ppl to receive stuff and suans ppl. and thats it. doesnt go the extra mile to make the whole event more fun. just does what he's told to do and wasnt fun at all. i would rather haf the guy last year. out of the whole thing. only 2 games. he's confirm very ex to hire, and for that price,a crowd thats bored to the core? thanks shanwee.
and to add, only spsu ppl were appreciated, with the exception of mohd zaid, council chairman. last year got other council ppl being thanked also, and more ppl from the acad clubs were appreciated. this year, seems to be spsu only. i wonder, what was spsu thinking. and to top it off, the 3 SAA officers were given a box o ferrero rochers ask token of appreciation. ferrero rochers for SAA officers? hmmmmm questionable there.
i dunno ah. but in my opinion the event wasnt so successful. or easily put, wasnt successful. ouch.
thanks for spoilling my day. THANKS. could have been a better day but nooooooooooooooooo you had to spoil it. yes you. no not you, those people who acutally made my day worse are to blame. feeling so down low at the moment.
